Ted Williams Parkway Pedestrian Overcrossing at Shoal Creek Drive

Shoal overcrossingHELIX Environmental Planning (HELIX) prepared technical studies and provided CEQA/NEPA, sustainable landscape design, and visual simulation services to the City of San Diego for a pedestrian bridge on Shoal Creek Drive over Ted Williams Parkway in the Carmel Mountain Ranch community of San Diego. The bridge provides access for local school children from residential areas to Shoal Creek Elementary School and helps to improve overall safety for pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists within the community. The project included multiple meetings and extensive input from community members on all aspects of the design, including landscaping. The project was constructed in 2014 and was recognized by the American Public Works Association San Diego chapter’s 2015 Project of the Year Award .
