Making a Difference
At HELIX, we take pride in supporting the communities in which we live and work. We mentor small businesses through the Caltrans Calmentor program. We serve an official pit stop for SANDAG’s Bike Anywhere Day to cheer on cyclists in our community. We plant native oaks and shrubs for the American River Parkway Foundation and help to restore local canyons with San Diego Canyonlands. We make lunches to nourish families at Rady Children’s Hospital through Ronald McDonald House Charities. We lead hands-on workshops to educate and inspire girls in the areas of science, math, and engineering.
Each year, HELIX donates a percentage of profits to charitable organizations selected by HELIX employees. Additionally, HELIX organizes opportunities for our employees and their families to generously donate their time and talent to local charitable organizations and outreach activities. Our philanthropic efforts are rewarded by seeing the difference we make in our local environment and in the lives of others.

- San Diego Food Bank, meal preparation, kitchen assistance, and food donation
- Feeding San Diego, food sorting and packaging
- SAY San Diego, drives for prom attire and school supplies, adopt-a-family for the holidays
- I Love a Clean San Diego, annual Coastal Cleanup Day and Creek to Bay Clean-up
- Sacramento Splash, sponsorship of vernal pool educational class for children
- American River Parkway Foundation, annual Creek Week event
- San Diego Canyonlands, Hollywood Canyon and Juniper Canyon clean-up events
- Chaparral Lands Conservancy, Torrey Pines Reserve trail restoration
- Batiquitos Lagoon Foundation, trail maintenance
- Expanding Your Horizons Conference at USD, for girls aged 11-16
- The Barking Lot, rescued dog walks and supply drives
- HELIX Headquarters Landscape Conversion, installation of all drought-tolerant and native plants
