Owens Valley Solar Energy Study

Following HELIX Environmental Planning’s (HELIX’s) successful preparation of the Inyo County Renewable Energy General Plan Amendment (REGPA) and Program Environmental Impact Report (PEIR), HELIX was contracted to implement the approved Renewable Energy Planning Grant Phase IIB from the California Energy Commission (CEC). With this additional grant funding, HELIX is assisting Inyo County with focused renewable energy planning in the Owens Valley and Owens Lake, including extensive data collection for biological resources, cultural resources, land use, and visual resources across nearly 450,000 acres; mapping and Geographic Information System (GIS) analysis; and public outreach with local stakeholders and five Tribal governments.
