Gillespie Field Airport

HELIX Environmental Planning (HELIX) is providing as-needed environmental consulting services including botanical surveys and habitat restoration and maintenance at Gillespie Field Airport in San Diego County within the City of El Cajon. Through our contract with C&S Engineers, HELIX also reviewed and implemented a San Diego Ambrosia translocation plan to support expansion of airport facilities. HELIX reviewed existing translocation plans, and prepared an updated plan of action for translocation activities. HELIX conducted multiple site visits to confirm and update prior vegetation mapping, flagging of species distribution and coordination of activities with City of San Diego Staff related to relocation of material at Mission Trails Regional Park. Upcoming activities will include translocation of ambrosia, maintenance of the translocated material, as well as biological monitoring and reporting.
