Bayshore Bikeway Groundbreaking August 5

The San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony on August 5, 2011, for a new stretch of the Bayshore Bikeway, which will eventually provide a continuous 24-mile loop around San Diego Bay for cyclists and pedestrians.  The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. off the intersection of Bay Boulevard and West J Street/Marina Parkway in Chula Vista.  The $1.5 million project, located entirely in Chula Vista, will add 1.8 miles of bike path between H and Palomar streets along Bay Boulevard.  HELIX provided environmental studies in support of this segment of the project, which marks a major milestone in fulfilling a regional vision to create a world-class recreational amenity
