Arden Park Retrofit

HELIX staff completed construction documents for major renovations around the community center at Arden Park. The plans included creation of a plaza and community gathering space with an overhead arbor, which links the front and back of the community center building at grade. Coordination with the Arden Park Park and Recreation District staff and board was a critical part of this project to ensure that the space was properly sized to meet their needs and would accommodate popular events such as movies and concerts in the park. A variety of custom seatwalls, retaining walls, stairs, seat stairs, and ramp details were developed to create the level plaza and provide improved ADA-accessibility throughout the site. The renovation also includes construction of a perimeter walking trail, resurfacing of tennis and basketball courts, and new planting and irrigation around the community center building.
