JOANNE DRAMKO

Environmental Planning Discipline Leader

As HELIX’s Environmental Planning Discipline Leader, Joanne works with the firm’s planning teams throughout California to leverage capabilities, integrate best practices, and grow business and teaming opportunities statewide.

Joanne is a well-rounded professional with insight, experience, and understanding for a variety of HELIX’s service lines, making her a valuable resource for projects requiring a multi-disciplinary and creative approach. As a Principal Planner, she manages, prepares, and peer-reviews environmental documents and technical reports under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and CEQA-Plus. She also servs as a Senior Technical Specialist leading air quality, greenhouse gas (GHG), and noise studies. Joanne authors and/or manages the production of environmental compliance documents for projects across California, including water, wastewater, water recycling, other public infrastructure projects, and a wide range of other public and private developments, long-range plans, and Climate Action Plans (CAPs).

Joanne’s highly creative mind and fine arts background combined with strong analytical and technical skills brings a unique and fresh perspective to clients. Her environmental consulting expertise is complemented by strengths in visual analysis, design, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Outside of work Joanne is an avid painter, working in a variety of mediums. Her work has been shown in galleries throughout Los Angeles, Ventura, and San Diego.

Joanne is an American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certified Planner and accredited California Air Resources Board (CARB) GHG Lead Verifier. She holds a Master of Environmental Science and Management degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts from the New College of Florida.
