HELIX is seeking an experienced As-Needed Senior Environmental Planner to support our Sacramento County office located in Folsom. This position will report to our Northern California Environmental Planning Group Manager.

The ideal As-Needed Senior Environmental Planner candidate must possess strong research, writing, analytical, Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), and verbal communication skills along with the proven ability to complete assigned tasks within time and budget constraints. This individual must have the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple project managers and prioritize and complete high-quality work within specified deadlines. They must also have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships among team members, other HELIX staff, clients, subconsultants, and agencies. Attention to detail, including strong spelling, proofreading, and organizational skills, is required.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an environmental studies, environmental science, environmental engineering, public planning, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of related professional work experience in the research, preparation, and review of environmental documents or public notices and reports in compliance with CEQA and/or NEPA within the planning industry.
• Excellent writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong attention to detail, including strong spelling, proofreading, and organizational skills.
• Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Salary

This position is an as-needed position and is utilized to supplement our full-time workforce. You will not be guaranteed a minimum number of hours. Hourly wages will be based on qualifications and/or experience. Expected starting pay range of $45.00 to $55.00 per hour.
