Scripps Coastal Meander Trail Opens

A key section of the Scripps Coastal Meander Trail, part of the California Coastal Trail that will eventually run the entire length of our state, opened today with a pathway and boardwalk traversing a steep coastal terrace overlooking Scripps Pier. HELIX archaeologists performed cultural resources monitoring for this publicly-accessible trail project that was built with diligent attention to detail to avoid impacts on environmental and cultural resources, and serves as a showcase for habitat restoration and pollution prevention efforts.
