Inland Feeder Utility Project Habitat Restoration

Inland Feeder HELIX Environmental Planning (HELIX) biologists and Construction Group staff conducted upland habitat restoration and enhancement services for approximately 100 acres that were temporarily disturbed during the construction of a 43-mile utility project in San Bernardino and Riverside counties. The project site included alluvial and Riversidean sage scrub habitat, which was also habitat for sensitive species including San Bernardino kangaroo rat and San Jacinto Valley crownscale. HELIX conducted restoration planning, agency coordination, implementation, and five-year maintenance and monitoring services for the restoration project working closely with Metropolitan Water District and Resource Agency staff.
