HELIX Landscape Architects prepared the initial
Visual Impact Assessment (VIA) technical study; Landscape Concept Plan; and
Final Design Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E) for the interchange
replacement project at Interstate 215 and Van Buren Boulevard in Riverside
County. The Landscape Concept Plan utilized a design theme derived from the
nearby March Air Field and Museum.
Bands of colorful, low-water-use sustainable
landscape plantings reinforce and enhance the existing visual character of the
area. Aircraft-inspired imagery is incorporated in the fencing and wall
treatments at the interchange.
