HELIX is currently seeking a part/full time Technical Editor to join our team. We are seeking a reliable, self motivated individual with a positive attitude. Position responsibilities include typing, proofreading, editing, and layout and production of documents to produce high-quality work products prepared by the Biological Services Division. This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in English or related field and 2-5 years experience in technical editing/document production. Candidates must possess exceptional proofreading, editorial, grammar and spelling skills and be able to follow specific, established report formatting systems/guidelines for a wide range of document types. This position will also include table creation/modification, document production, and performing some administrative-support tasks. Candidates must have the ability to communicate effectively with multiple project managers and prioritize and complete work within specified deadlines. Additional skills considered a plus include experience working in the environmental field and familiarity with the CSE editing style guidelines. Salary is dependent upon experience level.

Biology Project / Group Manager
Responsibilities include managing biological survey, habitat restoration, permitting, and monitoring projects as well as Biology Group staff. The position also will include resource agency consultation, client coordination, and preparation of proposals and related marketing support. Requirements: Bachelors degree or equivalent in an environmental science, biology or related field. Minimum 7 years experience in the environmental field carrying out biological, natural resource, or similar projects. Minimum 3 years project management experience. Excellent writing and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and personnel. Ability to complete projects within time and budget constraints. Strong client and agency relationships. Additional skills considered a plus: A Master’s degree or higher in Biology, Natural Resources, or related field. Experience managing large-scale natural resource based projects. Experience processing Corps, CDFG, and Regional Board applications. Possession of permits to survey for listed species.
Transportation Practice Leader
Candidates must have at least 10 years experience as an environmental planner/project manager in the transportation planning field, including preparation and oversight of complex environmental impact assessment documents (including NEPA compliance documents) for regional and state agencies as well as the FHWA and/or FTA. Candidates with one or more related college degrees, or equivalent, are highly desired. Candidates must possess excellent writing and communication skills. Success in business development with large-scale projects and national-level teaming partners is preferred. Requirements: Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in an environmental science, engineering, planning or related field. Additional skills considered a plus: Masters or PhD degree in environmental science, engineering, planning or related field. Experience assessing impacts of transportation projects. Experience in proposal preparation and marketing of consulting services. Knowledge of California environmental and regulatory setting, including CEQA.
